Algonquin Winter Tracking Expedition 2008

Friday (Day 6)

Friday was a half day. We spent most of the morning on a skull identification workshop.

Even the tiniest skulls can be identified following specific steps. This is the skull of a northern short-tailed shrew.
Alexis Burnett, the assistant instructor for the week.

This concludes the 2008 Algonquin Winter Tracking Expedition.

As usual it was an extremely interesting week, and I learned a lot. But mainly it was an opportunity to be out of doors for the better part of a week in the winter without the hassle of winter camping, and of course to get a LOT of exercise!

Many thanks to Dan Gardoqui, the leader; Alexis Burnett, assistant leader; and Caren the cook. And to White Pine Programs for organizing this event each year.
