Algonquin Winter Tracking
Algonquin Winter Tracking Expedition 2006
|
Sunday (Day 1)
|
The week starts Sunday afternoon. We went to the Algonquin Park
Visitor's Centre for an orientation to the park and its resident
wildlife.
|
 |
The balcony of the Visitor
Centre overlooks a huge bog. Down below the balcony (not
visible in this photo) was a large bird feeder with
chickadees and pine siskins milling about. |
|
 |
Nice view! It was snowing,
which was to become a recurring theme for the week. |

In the evening the leader, Dan Gardoqui, provided the first of a series
of very educational presentations on various aspects of tracking.
These icicles framed the view from the main cabin window,
where we gathered and had meals. |
