Red Squirrel

TRACKS

A Red Squirrel has come out of its ground burrow to scout around after a fresh snowfall.

EATING & FOOD

Red Squirrels frequently eat at the same spot over and over.

Here one has demolished a cone while sitting on a stump.

When the pile of demolished and eaten cones and other debris accumulates, it is referred to as a midden.

Here's a much larger midden. This one is about 15" deep.

It also includes uneaten cones.

This midden has quite a stash of uneaten cones.
