Track Study and Aging

Track Aging. A good
exercise is to make marks in soil (in this case sand), at
certain intervals of time. Then come back and watch how the
marks or footprints degrade over time.
Do this a few times and you're well on the way to being able
to properly age tracks.
How old is each track?

Here are the same footprints,
later. You can see that they have changed quite a bit in the
time that passed between the two photos.
Care to guess how much time elapsed between the two photos? |

This is a pic from the old days
when I spent all my time tracking.
Here I spent days with this ant hill, learning the secrets of
it building! |

It's never too late or too soon to
teach your children to track... Here are my twins learning
some skills ... learning to track, the only way I know to show
them.
Here they follow a "what?"
