woodlands, way out in the boonies of extreme northern Vermont.
Time of year: Early March.

fresh, powdery snow on the frozen lake. Direction of travel is towards the
camera.

trail width. Stride was exactly 19 inches almost every single step; on 1
occasion the stride was as small as 17 inches. Trail width was 6 inches.
Note this animal has perfect direct register.

Photos F4-F6 are close-ups of typical footprints. Footprints
ranged 2¾-3 inches wide by 2¼-2¾ inches long.
